About Free Tech Support
Free Tech Support is an independent help resource built to be the opposite of the scary, upsell-heavy tech sites you usually find. Search the web for a computer problem and you get flashing warnings, fake "virus detected" pop-ups, and a phone number begging you to call. We believe most everyday tech problems have a simple fix β and that you deserve to find it without being frightened or sold to.
What we do
We publish tested, plain-English guides for the problems real people hit every day: Windows errors and slow startups, printers stuck offline, Wi-Fi and internet drop-outs, email login and sync trouble, browser pop-ups and redirects, malware clean-up, phone and tablet issues, software installs, and account recovery. We serve readers primarily across the United States and Canada, using the devices, services and settings common there.
Our promise to you
- The real fix comes first, free. Every step-by-step guide costs you nothing.
- No scare tactics. We will never show fake error messages or tell you to "call now" because of a made-up virus.
- No surprise remote access. We will never ask to take over your computer out of the blue.
- Honest recommendations. If a problem genuinely needs new hardware or software, we say so plainly. Some links are affiliate links β we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes our advice.
How we test
Every guide is verified on real computers, printers and phones before it is published, and updated when Windows, macOS, apps or devices change.
