Privacy Policy: How Free Tech Support Handles Your Data
This privacy policy explains what information Free Tech Support collects when you visit the site and what we do with it. Last updated: 13 October 2026.
Reading the guides
You can read every guide without creating an account or giving us any personal information. There are no user accounts, no newsletter sign-up and no comments that require registration on this version of the site.
Like almost every website, our web host and our content delivery network (Cloudflare) process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the pages, keep the site secure and block abuse. We may use privacy-friendly, aggregated statistics (for example, Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies) to see which guides are read most.
The contact form
If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter (and a phone number only if you choose to add one). We use them only to read and answer your message and to improve the guides. We do not sell or rent this information and do not add you to any mailing list. Messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Cookies
The site does not need cookies to work. If this changes, for example if advertising is added in future, this policy will be updated before that happens and any consent required by law will be requested.
Links to other websites
Guides link to official support sites (such as Microsoft, Apple and Google) and to government services. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply when you visit them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you from the contact form, or to delete it, by sending a request through the contact page. Depending on where you live (for example in Canada under PIPEDA, or in a US state with its own privacy law) you may have additional rights, and we will honour them.
Children
The site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top of the page will change. Related pages: terms, disclaimer.
